Before our lip balms were featured on Daily Candy last December, Bare was our worst seller by far. Now, its sales are respectable, but we think it deserves even more love. Next to our seasonal scents or blends like Old Fashioned, it can seem lackluster, we guess. The thing is, Bare is the balm we most often reach for. When it's blustery and frigid, the way it was today in New York City, it's perfect: rich and emollient with anti-inflammatory rose hip seed oil to sooth extra chapped lips. Claire keeps Bare on her bed side table to keep her lips moist overnight, when the tenement building heat makes the apartment drier than the Sahara. While Bare contains no added scents, it does give off the slightest whiff of chocolate, thanks to the cocoa butter. As someone once told us, "It smells good enough to eat but it's not so strong that I'll lick it off." Exactly.
